Ireland's most luxurious train launched today offering a 7 day / 6 night tour of Ireland for €15,000 per couple.

The train has two dining carriages (named 'Wexford' and 'Sligo'), five sleeping carriages (called 'Down', 'Kerry', 'Leitrim', 'Carlow' and 'Waterford') and one observation carriage ('Kildare').

The train is being operated by Belmond who also run the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express. 

The company promote "the lavish, relaxing cabins, each with a private en-suite, offering details such as tartan cushions and generous wardrobes'.

Their latest launch offers rail journeys from Dublin with a variety of packages on board the midnight-blue Belmond Grand Hibernian train.

"The four-night “Legends and Loughs” covers highlights of the Republic of Ireland, including a private tasting at the Jameson Whiskey Academy near Cork, a visit to medieval Blarney Castlewith its famous Stone, a boat trip on Lough Leane in the magical Lakes of Killarney and an exhilarating sheepdog display in Connemara National Park.

"For golf lovers, tailor-made extensions to try out Ireland’s world-famous courses can be added. Stays in Dublin, to explore the vibrant city, can also be arranged before or after your journey.
