Despite earlier reports, the latest forecast for this weekend is for a period of warm weather across most of the country.
Friday morning will be dry and bright and the sunny skies and warm temperatures are set to remain over the weekend and into next week.
However, there will be some heavy downpours in places on Friday afternoon.
Saturday will be a similar day, starting off brightly with a mix of sunshine and showers in the afternoon.
The cloud will increase on Sunday morning and bring some scattered outbreaks of rain and drizzle to Munster, Connacht and north-west Ulster.
However, most of the country will remain dry during the afternoon with some patchy mist and light rain
The temperature will increase from Sunday leading to a bright and warm start to the week.
The period of warm, humid weather is set to continue with highs of 20 degrees on Wednesday.
