As Ireland re-opens start planning Your Days Out this summer

It's beginning to look a lot like summer and this is welcome news in households across the country.

4) Cork City Gaol, Cork

A unique visitor attraction showing what life was like for those who ended up behind bars. The cells are home to life-like wax figures and there is even original graffiti on the walls.

A city tour with a difference, Instead of a bus, you travel in an old US Army amphibious vehicle; that means it can travel on road and in water. And it does!

6) Titanic Experience, Cobh

The White Star Line Ticket Office was the departure point for thousands of passengers as well as the Titanic’s last stop. Each visitor gets a Titanic boarding pass and finds out their fate at the end.

7) Book of Kells & Old Library Exhibition, Dublin

Ireland’s greatest cultural treasure and the world’s most famous medieval manuscript, the Book of Kells is a richly decorated copy of the four Gospel, written in the 9th century. The Old Library must be seen; it contains 200,000 books and is a spectacular sight.

8) The Ark, Dublin

11) Cool Planet Experience, Wicklow

xx) Wild Ireland Animal Sanctuary

Re-opening on June 29th, step back in time into an ancient woodland inhabited by extinct creatures to experience some of Ireland’s ancient lost wildlife. 39) SEA LIFE, Bray

The perfect rainy day out, SEA LIFE, Bray is an aquatic Zoo with 30+ displays which are home to over 1,000 creatures including Black Tip Reef Sharks, Octopus, Seahorses, Stingrays and Red-Bellied Piranha.

Having opened its farm doors last week Newgrange Farm is a fun day out for all the family, come and see how a real farm works enjoy learning about the countryside on our family-run farm. 40) Airfield Estate

Airfield Estate, Dublin’s only 38 acre working farm, gardens, heritage and food experience.  A great family day out this Summer.

41) Tearaways Pet Farm & Activitiy Centre

1) The Rediscovery Centre

The Rediscovery Centre has partnered with NCAD to present Green Enterprise summer camps for young and emerging entrepreneurs. The one week camps will run on 8 - 12 July and 15 - 19 July. Second level students will work in groups over five days to develop a sustainable business idea that they will pitch in a Dragons' Den style presentation on the final day. These camps are free to attend but must be registered in advance

7) Connemara Maths Academy

With a philosophy of learning through discovery and experience, the week-long residential camps teaches critical-thinking and problem solving through fun outdoor activities, art and technology. Camps take place in either Rockwell College or Achill Island.

8) Fitzone: Clontarf & Sandymount

Fitzone is a multi-activity camp for 4-12 year olds from 9am - 3pm (longer hours can be arranged) and activities include swimming, soccer, basketball, adventure play zone, arts & crafts, outdoor play, tag rugby and much more.

9) Designer Minds

Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Maths (STEAM) are subjects that can help shape a child’s future and the Designer Minds camps throughout Munster are the perfect place to have some hands-on fun. The classes are best suited to seven to thirteen-year-olds and the emphasis is on learning through fun with challenging experiments and projects.

10 Artzone

With locations around Dublin and Kildare, The Artzone summer camps are suitable for 5-16 year olds have different themes depending including Fashion Academy, Comic Book Illustration and Film Making

13) Bricks4Kidz

Children explore the world of engineering, architecture and movie-making using Lego bricks with camp options including Junior Builders camp (3-5 years). Motorised Lego Technic camp (5-12 years) and Robotics and Coding camp (8-14 years).

14) Starcamps

Starcamp run their performance, fun and games based summer camps in over 200 towns across 32 counties. It is aimed at all boys and girls aged 4-12, with the emphasis on building every child's confidence through music, dance drama with some arts & crafts and fun games thrown in too.
