The increase in demand for Irish passports had led to a shortage of application forms.
Irish Passport applications rose by 10% from January-June with recent spikes from eligible British citizens following the Brexit vote and Irish fans travelling to the Euros, requiring the Department to hire hundreds of additional temporary staff to clear the backlog of nearly 70,000 applications.
However, the increase in applications from the UK has resulted in a shortage of application forms.
Now, one person in Belfast has resorted to selling spare forms on eBay for £25. The seller says they are "like gold dust at the moment".
User on reddit have reported the item to ebay for being a prohibited and restricted item as well as complaining to the Dept of Foreign Affairs.
