It's been a pretty good summer so far with long periods of dry weather and some hot sunny days.
However, all that is expected to change as the forecast for the rest of the week and the weekend is for heavy rain throughout the country with much lower temperatures.
A Status Orange weather warning is already in effect for as thunderstorms are expected on Wednesday evening over parts of Connacht Leinster and Ulster.

Thursday will have strong and gusty winds with heavy showers that will remain in the west and north-west during the evening.
Friday will see more scattered showers with some sunny spells and will be blustery with top temperatures around 18 degrees.
It is expected that the unsettled weather will continue throughout the weekend and into early next week with lots of showers and some sunny spells. It will also remain much cooler, with top temperatures in the mid to high teens.
