The winning ticket was bought in Spar on Main Street, Kinlough in Co Leitrim. The winning numbers drawn were 10, 11, 12, 15, 18 and 19 and the bonus number was 35.
The winner has bee advised to sign the back of the ticket and contact Lotto officials to collect the prize.
“I’m absolutely delighted, it’s great news for Kinlough,” said Noel McGowan of McGowan's Spar on Main Street in Kinlough, Co Leitrim.
“I just hope the winner is local and they … enjoy it.
“There’s great excitement around the village, wondering who it is and of course nobody knows at this stage.
“It would make a huge difference – it’s a vast amount of money for the winner.”
Meanwhile, a delighted mum is €139,025 richer after finding a winning Lotto ticket in her handbag.
“My handbag was bulging and I decided to clear the load yesterday. There were a few Lotto tickets in there", said the woman as she collected her prize at the National Lottery’s Dublin headquarters today.
“I’d just seen the news that the big jackpot was won in Leitrim but I thought, sure you never know, there might be a few quid on these.
The winner from Kilkenny who wishes to remain anonymous added: “I checked the tickets on the scanner in the shop and was surprised when I got a message to contact the National Lottery. When I found out how much I won, I was absolutely delighted".
