On Thursday, January 11, 2018 Mark Zuckerberg shared a Facebook post, again announcing changes to their algorithm to show preference for user-to-user engagement.
Facebook is changing its news feed to prioritise what friends and family share. This will reduce the amount of content that users see from brands and businesses.
The change to the algorithm is expected to push business organic reach to ZERO!
Companies will have to compensate for the death of organic reach by paying to boost a post - and also share content that will generate engagement and help push reach further.
How much marketing money will you have to set aside this year to contact people who like your page?
How YourDaysOut can help
One feature of the YourDaysOut platform allows users to FOLLOW their favourite pages. Businesses can create a post or publish a new event and ALL their page followers will receive a notification.
If 1,000 people FOLLOW your page, your new post could be seen by 1,000 people!
A business can also create events and feature on key landing pages that help reach new customers - as well as engaging with regulars.
People FOLLOW their favourite pages as they want to find out first about any new events or promotions.
People SHARE their experiences and learn from others. Businesses can respond to reviews, either inline (like TripAdvisor) or offline in private.
People see all the latest posts from pages they follow on their own personal NEWSFEED.
