Do you enjoy streaming movies or TV shows on your laptop?

Well, your not alone, as one-in-ten homes don't have a traditional TV entertainment set-up but can still access their favourite shows on the internet.

However, according to the Irish Independent, Communications Minister Denis Naughten is looking to expand on the definition of 'TV licence', which will include any devices above 11 inches that you can watch content on.

Minister Naughton is looking to remove an exemption that states that "non-portable television sets capable of exhibiting television broadcasting services distributed by means of the publicly available internet" to be removed and for portable devices to be included.

The minimum screen size would exclude mobile phones and standard tablets but include desktop, laptops and large tablets.

The change could raise as much as an extra €5 million in extra revenue.
