Following some patchy rain this morning and possibly some scattered showers this afternoon, the day will dry and cloudy with highest temperatures between 10 and 17 degrees.

However, there is a huge improvement expected on Tuesday and Wednesday with good sunny intervals and maximum temperatures as high as 19 degrees Celsius.  A slight breeze along the east and northern coasts will bring cooler weather.

The outlook for the rest of the week is mainly dry, settled weather continuing into next weekend although some gusty easterly winds will mean it will be coolest along northern, eastern and southern coasts.

Early indications are that the weekend and next week will see even better weather, with temperatures increasing countrywide as winds decrease.
