There is definitely a spring in everyone's step this week.
The weather today is very mild with long sunny spells and temperatures possibly reaching as high as 17degrees and most people are looking forward to a four-day week and a long Bank Holiday weekend.
However, while we look set for a period of sustained milder weather, we are not going to avoid the rain with patchy drizzle at times, mainly along the Atlantic coast during the week.
The early indications are that the rain could be heavier on St. Patrick's Day. Friday morning will start off cooler with rain and drizzle expected at times for western and northern counties that become heavier later in the day.
On Friday, St. Patrick's Day, it will be a cool start. Although dry to begin away from the northwest coast, rain there will extend steadily southeastwards during the course of the day. Winds will be moderate southwest, increasing fresh during the day and outbreaks of rain will be heavy in western and northern areas. Afternoon temperatures will be between 9 and 11 degrees
