Met Eireann has issued status yellow weather warnings for the south of the country, with heavy wind and rain expected today and tomorrow.

The forecast states that "rough seas combined with spring tides could result in overtopping waves on low-lying coastal areas of the southwest during the high tide period".

Sunday is exected to start off dry but "rain will spread through much of Munster during the morning, turning persistent and locally heavy there. The rain will extend northeastwards to most places during the afternoon and evening".
