Killarney Mountain Festival
Welcome to the KILLARNEY MOUNTAIN FESTIVAL In association with KENDAL MOUNTAIN FESTIVAL
A spectacle & celebration of all things mountain and adventure related will take place over the weekend of March 9th/10th & 11th 2018.
The idea to create this festival, to celebrate the very best of our wonderful surrounds, was born from a twinning initiative and we are delighted to host the festival in association with Kendal Mountain Festival.
We are thrilled to present to you a programme of over forty outstanding events, running throughout the weekend, including outdoor adventure film, guest speakers, guided walks, park run, photography exhibits, children’s activities, Ireland’s highest climbing wall and an interactive exhibition with SARDA Search Dogs and Kerry Mountain Rescue Team.
The programme features screenings of short and feature length documentaries about outdoor adventures in venues around the city. There are also talks from the likes of Scottish wilderness hiker Cameron McNeish and surfer and environmentalist Cal Major, as well as adventures into the mountains themselves.
The festival has planned for different levels of activity and ability, offering everything from a moderate hike to a guided ascent of Carrauntoohil and a 10 kilometre run in Killarney National Park.
The main hub of the festival is Basecamp and we invite you to join us there each day.. sit, relax, have a drink, soak up the atmosphere.. check out our timetable for scheduled events and keep an eye on the blackboards for exciting pop-up events taking place each day at Basecamp…
