Carrickmacross Arts Festival (10th - 13th August, 2017), offers original Music, Comedy, Arts & Crafts, Cinema, Drama, Poetry, Children's Activities, Artisan Trade Stalls and much more. 4 Day, 2 Day and single day tickets available from www.carrickmacrossartsfestival.com, with limited tickets available at the door. Lose yourself in the wonder of musical and artistic talent that the Carrickmacross Arts Festival offers in a vibrant and captivating setting. Our programme of events showcases art in all its forms - music, literature, comedy, painting, sculpture, drama, film and so much more. Local artists will feature alongside some of the country’s most renowned creative minds at Ireland’s biggest small festival this summer. Thursday Thursday at Carrickmacross Arts Festival features a variety of cultural attractions; live drama 'What's for Dessert?' by the Farney Players, open air cinema screening short films from Clones film festival as well as the feature movie 'School of Rock', poetry and prose recitals in association with the Patrick Kavanagh centre, an exhibition of paintings by the Workhouse artists & children's entertainment by RTÉ Junior's Reuben. Friday Friday at Carrickmacross Arts Festival will feature our Comedy showcase from 9pm to Midnight with David Mc Savage, Reuben, Michael Downey, Lisa Casey, Barry Mack and Lorcan McGrane. In the Art Tent will be an exhibition by Carrickmacross Camera Club entitled 'Best of 2017'. The comedy showcase will be preceeded by our first ever Pop-Up Gaeltacht which sees our site transform into an Irish speaking from the 6pm to 9pm featuring Gig as Gaeilge with Dysania and special guests. All are welcome, we won't be strict but it's a nice chance to try out your cupla focal. :) Saturday Saturday at Carrickmacross Arts Festival will feature music by Booka Brass, Turn, Zoe Conway & John McIntyre, Darling, We, the Oceanographers, Video Blue, Anna Jordan (SELK), Kern, Buffalo Sunn, Grace Wilde, Leila Jane & the healers, Bondicott, Accidents in the Workplace. In the visual arts tent there will by a live charcoal portrait demo by the renowed Barry Jazz Finnegan as well as exhibitions by Hattie Billingham, Phill Foley & Kelly O' Connor On site will be a performance by Italian street theatre group Theatro Due Mondi, a variety of workshops, artisan trade stalls and festival food. In the kid's area there will be several family games & facepainting, kid's open mic, book nook and storytelling, as well as kid's workshops...
