Peppa Pig is heading to Beyond the Trees Avondale for a special family weekend this June, giving young fans the chance to meet Peppa and take photos throughout the day. Meet-and-greet sessions will take place at various times between 11am and 4:30pm across both days.
Families can combine their visit with the Treetop Walk, giant slide and woodland trails, making it a fun day out for younger children and Peppa Pig fans.

Cruinniú na nÓg returns this June with hundreds of free creative events taking place across Ireland, giving children and young people the chance to explore art, music, theatre, storytelling, filmmaking, circus skills and hands-on workshops in their local communities.
Highlights include family activities at Dublin’s Dead Zoo Lab, music workshops with the National Concert Hall, behind-the-scenes tours at Cork’s Everyman Theatre, theatre tasters at Friars Gate, circus events with Galway Community Circus, Dublin Circus Project and Circusful Belfast, graffiti workshops at Swords Castle and family creativity days at Share Discovery Village.
With events taking place in museums, theatres, libraries, galleries and community venues nationwide, Cruinniú na nÓg remains one of Ireland’s biggest free family events and a great opportunity for children to try something new, get creative and have fun.
Carnival of Science

Cork Carnival of Science returns to Fitzgerald Park this weekend with two days of free family fun, hands-on experiments, live science shows and interactive activities. Children can explore everything from engineering and wildlife to chemistry, technology and space through workshops and demonstrations designed to make science accessible and entertaining.
Highlights include shows from Mark the Science Guy, Dr Ken’s Spectacular Circus Science Show and Science Seanál, alongside activities from Explorium, Fota Wildlife Park, Blackrock Castle Observatory, UCC School of Chemistry and the Irish Bee Conservation Project. Running from 11am to 5pm each day, it is one of the biggest free family events of the summer in Cork.
Oakfield Bark Dog Show

Oakfield Park hosts its annual Bark Dog Show this June, bringing together dog competitions, demonstrations, family entertainment and plenty of four-legged fun. Owners can enter classes including Best Puppy, Waggiest Tail, Best Trick, Owner Lookalike and Best Rescue Dog, with prizes awarded throughout the day and an overall Best in Show title up for grabs.
Families can enjoy Paw Patrol appearances, free face painting, dog-friendly train rides and a range of exhibitors and activities, while Buffers Restaurant will be open throughout the event. Proceeds from the day will support the Irish Guide Dogs Donegal Branch.
