The Copper Coast UNESCO Global Geopark is an initiative of local communities who wanted to create jobs and develop the sustainability of the area by enhancing and promoting its natural, cultural historical and undeniably beautiful assets.
The Copper Coast was awarded European Geopark status in 2001 and in 2004 legally formed a Company Limited by Guarantee holding Charitable Status and also achieved UNESCO Global Geopark status, placing it firmly on the international stage.
We provide all kinds of educational experiences for students at all levels - visiting schools, guiding walks, delving into local history.
We host local events such as seasonal fairs, craft demonstrations, film shows and much more.
Copper Coast Festival
Every year Geoparks have a couple of weeks known as European Geoparks Network Week when they put on events to highlight the EGN and geodiversity in their area.
The second Copper Coast Festival which will take place between Friday, the 25th of May and Wednesday, the 30th of May.
We involve as many of the Geopark villages and communities as possible and have prepared an exciting programme brimming with fun activities and events including Ecological & Geological Walk, Geopark Visitor Centre Open Day, Explore It! Draw It! Eat It!, Seaweed Discovery Walk with Lunch, Evening Surf Lesson and more.
