The Toy Library Swap & Play returns to Skerries Library, offering a relaxed and family-focused event centred around play, sharing and sustainability. Designed for children and parents to enjoy together, the event creates an opportunity to explore a different approach to toys by encouraging reuse rather than buying new.
Families can bring up to five toys in good condition to swap or donate, with no requirement to contribute in order to take part. A dedicated play area allows children to interact with a wide selection of toys, try them out and choose favourites to bring home, creating a simple and accessible experience for all ages.
Alongside the toy swap, the event includes a range of light activities such as a temporary tattoo station using plastic-free materials, adding a creative element to the day. Any remaining toys are redistributed to local charities and libraries, reinforcing the community aspect of the initiative.
Taking place from 12pm to 2pm, the event is held in the library setting, with advance booking recommended due to limited capacity.
