The National Steam Rally returns to Stradbally Hall from 1st to 3rd August 2026, bringing together one of Ireland’s largest celebrations of steam power, vintage machinery and rural heritage. Set within the historic grounds of Stradbally Hall, the event attracts enthusiasts, families and visitors from across the country for a unique journey through Ireland’s engineering and agricultural past.
Throughout the weekend, visitors can experience impressive displays of working steam engines, vintage tractors, oil engines and classic vehicles. The sights, sounds and atmosphere of these historic machines in action create a fascinating experience for both dedicated enthusiasts and first-time visitors alike.
Alongside the machinery displays, the rally features traditional crafts, demonstrations, exhibitions and family-friendly attractions, offering plenty to explore across the event grounds. Visitors can learn about the history of steam power, discover vintage technology and enjoy a relaxed day out in the Laois countryside.
A highlight of the weekend is the Steam & Vintage Parade through Stradbally on Saturday afternoon, where an impressive collection of restored vehicles and machinery makes its way through the town. Combining history, nostalgia and hands-on experiences, the National Steam Rally continues to be one of Ireland’s most popular heritage events.
