West Wicklow Festival
The West Wicklow Festival was founded last year by the Irish pianist Fiachra Garvey as a means to bring some special chamber music concerts to this beautiful part of the country.
Hosted at Russborough House and in St Mary’s Church in Blessington, the festival will include some of the best Irish and international orchestral musicians including virtuoso clarinetist Julian Bliss, the Scottish Chamber Orchestra’s principal cellist Philip Higham, the celebrated British string ensemble the Benyounes Quartet, as well as the festival’s founder, the aforementioned Fiachra Garvey.
Given the success of last year’s inaugural edition, the festival has doubled the number of concerts at the 2018 edition, with a programme that includes chamber works from Bach and Brahms amongst others.
The combination of amazing venues, stellar musicians, and exemplary compositions makes the West Wicklow Festival unmissable for classical music fans.
