Become a Viking
Board a Viking longship, handle replica weapons, try on Viking clothing and discover what daily life was like for Dublin’s first settlers. Explore a Viking house, stroll through busy streets and uncover the myths, legends and traditions that shaped the city.
Interactive displays throughout the exhibition allow visitors of all ages to experience Viking life first hand rather than simply reading about it.
Discover Medieval Dublin
Continue your journey through medieval Dublin, where bustling markets, wealthy merchants and narrow streets recreate life hundreds of years ago. Learn about medieval crime and punishment, medicine, trade and everyday life while exploring detailed recreations filled with sights, sounds and even smells from the period.
Visitors can also discover fascinating archaeological finds on loan from the National Museum of Ireland, alongside engaging audio-visual experiences that reveal how Dublin developed through the centuries.
Climb St Michael’s Tower
Included with admission is access to historic St Michael’s Tower. Climb the 96 steps to enjoy panoramic views across Dublin while learning about the tower’s history and its connection to the medieval parish that once stood on the site.
At the tower’s base, visitors can explore displays explaining medieval Dublin, historic maps, stone masonry and archaeological discoveries from the surrounding area.
