UCD Festival

The UCD Festival returns to Belfield on Saturday with a packed day of hands-on science, technology and creative discovery. Families can explore the campus through themed festival zones filled with workshops, live experiments, music, dance and more. With self-driving tractors, GAA skill games, VR labs and a working farm, there’s something for curious minds of all ages.
A sensory-friendly programme also runs throughout the day, offering a relaxed and inclusive experience for neurodiverse families. Expect sensory play, storytelling, a silent disco and a calm, welcoming space where every child can feel at ease. Entry is free and all are welcome.
Ballymoney Show

The Ballymoney Show returns for two days of family fun and farming tradition in the local showgrounds, hosted by the North Antrim Agricultural Association. A popular event for locals and visitors alike, the show brings together communities from across Ireland and Britain for a lively weekend in the countryside.
Visitors can enjoy everything from livestock judging and pony shows to food tents, cookery demos and live music. There’s a bonny baby competition, football challenges, a dog show and over 100 produce and craft stands. Cruinniú na nÓg

Cruinniú na nÓg, Ireland’s national day of free creativity for young people, returns with over 1,000 free events taking place across the country. From circus picnics and music takeovers to science workshops, film-making, DJ sessions and more, this year’s line-up is full of imagination and energy.
Now in its eighth year, the festival is part of the Creative Ireland programme and offers hands-on events for all ages, from toddlers to teens. Whether you’re crafting a bug hotel in Wicklow, jamming in Longford, building electric bugs in Kilkenny or trying theatre games in Sligo, there’s something for every interest and ability – and it’s all completely free.
Highlights include live music at Swords Castle in Dublin, the 24-Hour Play Extravaganza in Leitrim, Rock the Block in Cork and the Big Dig in Carlow. There are also inclusive events for children with additional needs, like Blooming Science in Mayo and ASD-friendly music sessions in Longford.
Monaghan Truck Show & Tractor Pull

The Monaghan Tractor Pull and Truck Show returns to Clontibret for a weekend of family fun, roaring engines and live entertainment. With pulling competitions, judged truck entries and prizes throughout the weekend, there’s plenty for motoring fans to enjoy.
For families, there’s a bouncy castle zone, kids’ sensory area, food stalls and live music from the Fuzzy Burgers and Looney Choons. Entry is €20 at the gate, kids go free, and all proceeds support local special needs charities in Monaghan.
