EXPLORE THE BARROW RIVER TOWPATH
Since 2012 Waterside has been operating a bicycle rental service that is swiftly becoming one of the most popular activity outings for the southeast of Ireland. The reason is pretty simple, the Barrow river towpath makes an excellent cycling greenway that gives visitors miles of safe, traffic free adventure in beautiful countryside. As the towpath follows the river downstream to St. Mullins and stretches upriver as far as the grand canal in County Kildare you simply have miles and miles of countryside to explore.
BIKES FOR YOUNG AND OLD
Waterside Bike&hike offers good quality mountain bikes for men and women as well as children's bikes, tow alongs and child seats. So now the whole family can enjoy a day out together. Waterside bike&Hike supplies helmets, hi viz vests and any other equipment required.
WHERE TO CYCLE
Nip down to St. Mullins and stop for tea/coffee at the fantastic Mullichain Cafe. Or why not be more adventurous and take an electric bike on the back roads to Inistioge, where you can wander the fantastic arboretum at Woodstock gardens.
ECOLOGY BIKE TOURS New for 2014 - We are now offering guided tours along the river Barrow towpath to explore the ecology fo the area. Learn about the flora and fauna, as well as a bit of history of the famous river Barrow navigation.
