Cork Jazz Festival
One Europe's biggest jazz festivals, the Cork Jazz Festival celebrates its 40th anniversary in 2017.
Headline acts include Imelda May, the Ronnie Scott's All Stars and the Swing Cats but there will be over 1,000 musicians performing in hundreds of different venues throughout the city.
The famous Festival Club at the Metropole Hotel is celebrating its 40th edition and will once again play host to a top range of diverse artists and music on several stages throughout the Jazz Festival weekend.
For the 40th edition, the hotel welcomes a superb new Jazz Festival innovation – an exclusive linkage with Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club from London’s Soho – the world’s most famous jazz club. Watch out for that very special Ronnie Scott ambience at the Metropole featuring top class jazz to suit all tastes.
And fans of Swing, Funk, Groove, Blues and Dixieland will be well catered for, with an exciting mix of Irish and international acts.
You can also enjoy a special series of workshops and master classes – ALL FREE OF CHARGE – at the state-of-the-art CIT Cork School of Music in the city centre. The Jazz Camp is open to everyone – musicians and non-musicians.
