Balbriggan Summerfest – Family Fun at Bremore Castle
Balbriggan Summerfest returns from 27th May to 1st June with a packed week of free family events centred around Bremore Castle and the seafront.
The weekend programme is bursting with activity. Saturday kicks off with a sandcastle competition at the beach from 10am before everything moves to Bremore Castle from 11am. Families can enjoy a colourful mix of carnival games, face painting, live music, food and craft stalls, and a visit from Paul’s Pets. There’s also a magician for the kids at 3pm, castle tours in the afternoon, and a sensory-friendly hour from 11am to 12pm for children who prefer a quieter space.
Don’t miss the Sports Dash and Colour Run at 12pm, or the special walk and talk with the Historical Society starting at 2pm. The day wraps up with the Blessing of the Boats at the harbour at 6.30pm.
Sunday brings more of the same fun from 11am with Junior Park Run, more carnival games and live performances from local music acts and choirs. Sensory hour returns from 11am to 12pm, and families can take part in castle tours, animal encounters, and more magic shows.
With something happening every day – from bingo and football matches to live music and fireworks – Summerfest brings the community together in a celebration of local life, creativity and fun.
All events take place across Bremore Castle, the beach and surrounding areas. Entry is free and no booking is required for most activities.
