Dublin City Council Sensoria returns to Merrion Square Park for a two-day festival focused on accessibility, creativity and shared experiences for all ages. Designed as a neurodivergent-friendly event, the festival creates a welcoming space where families, older children and young adults can take part in a wide range of activities at their own pace.
Across both days, the programme includes live performances on the main stage, with music, dance, magic and interactive shows running throughout each session. Visitors can also enjoy walkabout entertainment including circus acts, stilt walkers, puppet pop-ups and bubble shows, along with a variety of food stalls on site.
A strong emphasis is placed on participation, with hands-on workshops and creative spaces available across the park. Activities include art and messy play, bread making, storytelling, movement sessions, silent disco and interactive play zones, alongside low-pressure spaces such as LEGO play areas and themed tents for shared interests.
Sensory and wellbeing areas form a key part of the festival, with dedicated quiet spaces, soft play, regulation zones and interactive installations designed to support a calm and inclusive environment. Structured sessions across the day help manage crowd levels, with the final session each day tailored towards older teens and young adults.
Developed by Dublin City Council in collaboration with organisations including AsIAm, ADHD Ireland and Dyslexia Ireland, the festival has been recognised for its inclusive approach. Free to attend, the event requires advance booking, making it a carefully managed and accessible day out in the city.
