The Belfast Titanic Maritime Festival returns with a weekend of maritime-themed family fun, food and frolics in the city's Titanic Quarter. The activity takes place at Queen's Quay, Donegall Quay and Titanic Quarter. Magnificent ships and naval vessels Climb aboard some magnificent visiting tall ships and naval vessels, which will be docked in Belfast for the festival weekend. Meet the captain and crew and learn a bit more about life at sea. Spectacular live entertainment There will be an array of entertainment to keep you entertained including live music in the Queen's Quay music marquee each day, a live radio roadshow with lots of exciting competitions and giveaways and some of the best international roving street performers. Keep an eye out for the Dancing Grannies, the Afrikan Warriors, Jitterbug Jackson and the Giant Balloon Act who are all set to perform. Jack Sparrow also plans to drop by over the weekend, alongside a funky pirate trio, sea shanty sailors and the famous 'Pirates Got Talent' Circus show. These crazy carry-ons are not to be missed! Quayside family fun There will be plenty of free activities with something for everyone to enjoy, including maritime themed workshops and displays, Vespa NI information stand and Vespa display, Educational fun with Exploris NI and Ulster Wildlife Trus and a host of other activities for the whole family to revel in. Titanic Quarter activities In partnership with the Titanic Foundation, the Titanic Quarter will be animated over the course of the Maritime Festival weekend. New to this year's event will be the Maritime Mile, an animated waterfront trail that encourages people to explore the area's maritime and industrial history whilst connecting all the key attractions, public realm, sculptures and viewing points along the way. Visitors will have the opportunity to experience Northern Ireland's home-grown hidden gems, from the SS Nomadic, to the historic Titanic and Olympic slipways, along with new additions to Titanic Quarter - the Titanic Walkway, and one of the world’s largest and rarest lighthouse optics, The Great Light. The Maritime Mile will guide visitors down towards HMS Caroline, the last survivor of the Battle of Jutland, and into the Thompson Dock, the massive 44ft Dry Dock where the infamous Titanic was fitted out.
