The city centre will be awash with a kaleidoscope of colour and creativity as Mela Carnival returns to the streets.
All the fun of the carnival! Bringing together hundreds of participants and artists from across the city and beyond our spectacular carnival parade will fill the streets with vibrant global costumes, pulsating world music and dance and amazing processional sculpture. Round off the afternoon in the Mela Global Village at City Hall grounds with music, dance and family workshops - admission is free.
Carnival Parade – Hundreds of participants and artists will flood the streets in dazzling global costumes, giant processional sculptures, world music, and dynamic dance
Global Village – After marching through the city, head to the City Hall grounds for live music, family workshops, and cultural showcases until 4pm.
Cathedral Quarter Mini Mela – Head across to Cathedral Quarter as the magic of Mela spills onto Hill Street, Writers Square, Donegal Quay and St Annes Square
When Worlds Collide – A herd of endangered animals will flock towards City Hall grounds leading to an outdoor theatre performance combining storytelling, music, and dance drawing attention to the climate crisis
