Kildare Derby Festival
The festival is linked to one of the biggest horsing events in the country, the Irish Derby, which takes place at the Curragh Racecourse.
Since 1978, Kildare Town has hosted their annual Festival in conjunction with the Irish Derby. Thie event includes music, arts, crafts, sports, Derby Queen, Person of the Year and a parade.
The parade takes place on Sunday, 24th June at 2pm.There will also be a Market and Eurostar Bounce Children's Entertaiment in The Square from 12pm.
Tribute bands to Guns ‘n’ Roses and Luke Kelly play on The Square on Saturday June 30th, and local band The Chapel Hill Gang, and main attraction Rob Strong on Sunday, July 1 with lots of events during the week leading up the the big race including Exhibitions, Cake Sales and Poetry.
